The Bachelor of Science in Radiologic Technology or BS RadTech is a four-year degree program that trains students on operating various medical equipment that include CT scanners, MRIs, Ultrasounds and X-rays to aid in the diagnosis, treatment and research of diseases.
Radiologic Technologists perform imaging examinations to patients. They are responsible for positioning patients on the lab equipment to ensure that a quality diagnostic image is produced. They work closely with Radiologists in diagnosing these images for any possible disease or injury. They are different from Medical Technologists whose focus is on areas like Hematology, Microbiology, and other clinical chemistry operations.
To be a licensed professional, graduates must take first the Radiologic Technology Licensure Examination of the Professional Regulation Commission.
